BMX Mania

Runner and Little Poot tried their hand at BMX last Friday and had a blast. CC and Dexter were the pit crew and were the runners to the refreshment stand. The kept Team Harpole hydrated with Gatorade.

We all had a great time and the night was topped with trophies and a trip to get sundaes at McDonalds.

As seen on TV

I am a sucker for "as seen on TV". I saw an infomercial for airbrush makeup. It comes with an airbrush hicky-do and you spray the water base makeup on your face for a flawless youthful glow. I am sold! But I really don't wear make up. But I might if I could airbrush it with only a drop of base and with the direct spray which goes directly where you want it. I guess for now, I will hold off on youthful glow and continue my regimen of a blemish free face using my favorite TV buy, Proactiv.

I do, though, dream late at night, of the slim body from easy crunches or from the use of a ballet bar or tone muscles from any array of resistance machines, the flawless easy look of clear youthful skin (if I used all of them at one time, time and age would be meaningless), the secrets to wealth, how to buy a house with only $150, the machines that will make me into the next Food Network Star and how to keep my car cool while parked in the scorching sun in this burning pit of never ending heat...I'm sorry, in the summer I'm always ready to move to Alaska.

Anyway...

Since I have no money to make myself into a flawless toned rich mom who can cook up a storm with lots of houses to rent, I purchased the Auto Cool. I saw it at Walgreens for under $10! Yes, the solar powered fan that you place on your window which is supposed to suck out the horrible stagnant heat in your parked car. I will try anything in the summer.

How is it working? Well let me say this, it came with this handy dandy holder for cell phones and pens that fits into the cup holder (a free gift mind you) and I think that is neat. My cell phone sits comfortably next to the cool drink I need when I get into my car!

Well that is all for now folks. I just wanted to warn those up watching and dreaming not waste to much time on the thought of a cool car for under $10.

An interactive blog!

I have noticed that many a suggestion out in WWW land has been not to use real names. Oops, I messed up on that a little bit. But to start out anew and turn a new leaf, I have decided to use nicknames for my precious little pups.

Until the triplets learned to count (in the correct order mind you), Mr. Plumber Guy and I would talk in code about them using their birth order numbers. What a simple time...then we had to move to spelling things out. Needless to say, that only prolong the conversation and frustrated Mr. Plumber Guy because I am no speller. By the time I got the hang of spelling commonly used words, #3 was asking why I was spelling the word and not just saying it. And what made it so bad is that #3 was asking why we were spelling the word "insert word of choice here" not asking why we were spelling a word. Then we started using code names. That lasted about five seconds before we were both confused and #1 began straightening the story out for us using the real names!

Now we just wait until they are all asleep before we talk. But, by this time Big Daddy is asleep too, having only caught the first two sentences of my story. And you wonder why I set up a blog?

Anyway...I digress. I lean toward the use of baby order numbers but I thought it might be fun to use nick names. Tell me what you think and do the polls!

In the eyes of the beholder

Jay has been working steadily for weeks on what I saw to be a hunk of metal things stuck together. But through the eyes of a visionary who has no money, a lot of ability and some steel it is the frame to his Harley. A Harley he is making, from scratch, not from a kit. I used to shake my head at what I thought he thought he could do. Silly me, I now shake my head at the thought of me not knowing what he could do. Ask me about the old white truck he had to tow home. It didn't run and it was free. I hated the thought of having a that piece of junk parked in the street in front of our house for who knows how long. Then in a short period of time it was running and offered us a second vehicle without monthly payments. It sold for several thousand a year later. From that point on I had a little more faith in him. Then he excitedly asked if the kids and I wanted to go to California to purchase a dirt bike that was being sold at a ridiculously low price. The catch? I'm sure you figured it out, it needed work. So we loaded up, headed to California and when we got to the seller's house, he had it ready for us to pick up....in boxes. It was not what I was expecting to see, Jay and this man carrying out a few boxes of parts and then some wheels. But in a few weeks I had a dirt bike to call my own! These are only a few examples of the ability I am talking about.

So my point in this? Look through Jay's eyes not mine!

Look who needs to clean his "eyes" with Windex

Jay finally broke down and bought reading glasses. I hate to embarrass him by being too sappy for all the world to read so I will just say that I think he looks very good in glasses!

Our "New to Us" Van

BiFF found us an excellent van! We have been in the market to buy a used minivan for about six weeks and he came across a lady who was looking to sale her minivan. It is a white 2000 Ford Windstar with less than 70,000 miles! It has so many nice features and the kids are already making a schedule as to who gets to sit in the two middle captain's chairs. They cried when we told them we were going to get another vehicle. They "liked the red car", "they loved the red car". Now they are like "what red car?" I guess we have come full circle with vehicles. We had the Bronco first with no kids and then went straight to Windstars when we found out we were having the triplets. After two Windstars, we tried a different family car but when we really needed another vehicle, we went right back to the Windstar. We should be in the Ford commercials!

Dreamer

Here is where Mr. Dirt Biker Guy officially got the bug for a road bike. My Harley man got his taste on "the trip" last year (look for a post on that trip later). This was taken in Sturgis, South Dakota. He has a Gold Wing that came in parts. He put it together and rides it all around town. Now has a "chopper" in the making, a piglet in the making even! He has the Harley motor waiting for its new frame, which is not far from being done. He needs a sign over our garage saying "Harpole's Hard Tail Choppers". I wonder if any cable networks would be interested in a reality show?

I wish I had thought of that!

While looking for anything that would help a very bad sunburn in the pharmacy, I ran across the neatest thing ever; peroxide with a squirt nozzle! I have never thought of putting peroxide in a squirt bottle. How easy! I just think of the combined 33 years worth of boo-boos I could have sprayed instead of begging to let me touch it with a drenched cotton ball of peroxide. Now if you are saying to yourself "I already knew about this", then why have you not told me? Well that is ok, I now have my own, proudly displayed near the band-aids waiting for a boo-boo.

The sunburn? It was a bad one. And bless his little heart, I wish it could have been me. What did I find at the pharmacy that worked? Nothing. I used vinegar, baking soda, oatmeal, Solarcaine, burn gel, cool wash cloths, lotion, Advil, Gatorade and love. In the end, Advil, Euercin, Gatorade and love (all of which were on hand at home) made the difference. The one thing I did not try that was suggested...jalapeno juice. I think if I had tried it I would have had to use a spray bottle so that I could stand back a ways in order to have a head start in running. I might have had a very angry kid on my hands. I will save the jalapeno juice for my mosquito bites. YES, it does work for that!!

Look mom, I'm blogging!

OK, maybe I have this down and it is so easy. I have to try to post a picture. This picture is our wedding picture. We will celebrate our 11th anniversary in November. August 9 will be the 12th anniversary of when we first met. I am sure Mr. Plumber guy will say "is that all." He is a deck of cards! :)

Maybe I understand how this works

I got the first post to work. Now let's see if this second post works so I can go to bed. LOL Who am I kidding? Maybe I will add a picture on my next post.

Will I start to update the website now?

Ok, Shelly was very kind to work with me tonight on my website. Maybe in the "blog" format I will be able to keep you updated with every precious moment of my children. I am sure you are sitting on the edge of your seat once again for my once a year update but you will have to wait until this weekend when I have time to update.
